Picking The Right Wedding Hairstyle

After picking the perfect dress comes the perfect hairstyle to go with it. Making sure that your hair is kept classy while being able to dance the night away is a necessity. The neckline of your dress can be a helpful way of deciding what hairstyle will work best for you! Here is a list of wedding dress necklines and which hairstyles work best with each!

Strapless/Sweetheart Neckline

This style of neckline can work with almost any hairstyle! You can either rock your hair all up or all down. Depending on what look you are trying to achieve, you have many options. If you’re looking for a sophisticated look, try a slicked-back pony or bun. If you’re going for more of a soft look, try a loose messy bun or curls!

Off-the-shoulder Neckline

Just like the strapless neckline, there are many hairstyle options when it comes to an off-the-shoulder gown. If you don’t want to show too much skin, you can opt to leave all or most of your hair down to fall onto your shoulders. For a bolder look, you can wear your hair back to show off your collarbones and dress up your neck with jewelry. You can even pin your hair to one side with pins or go for a side braid!

Halter Neckline

A halter neckline is a great way for a bride to show off her back and shoulders! To eliminate making your torso elongated, keeping your hair down is the way to go. Avoid updos with this style of neckline. Low buns and ponytails are always a safe choice also.

Plunging/V -Necklines

With this neckline, it would be best to keep most of your hair off your shoulders. Half-up-half-down hairstyles can work with this neckline too. For the best results, a low bun or chignon with some face-framing pieces in the front. With a plunging or V-neck dress, it is a statement so making sure your hair isn’t covering that is important.

High Neckline

A high neckline is timeless and very classy. Many different hairstyles can be paired with this neckline style. However, try to avoid having a lot of your hair down to avoid clutter. It will be very busy having a high neck with all your hair down. A sleek high or low bun is always a great option. However, an updo or braid is also a very feminine, classy look.

Making sure your hair fits your style for your wedding is so important. There are so many options and ways to choose a hairstyle that matches what you need and want for your special day!
